G&J Resources at ECS 2023
This year’s China Coating Show 2025 in Shanghai marked another milestone for our team at G & J Resources, with a strong presence of 10 delegates representing the company. Despite the challenging global trade atmosphere—including anti-dumping measures and tariff initiatives led by the United States—the event continued to demonstrate impressive momentum and stability.
More than 1,420 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions participated, reflecting a notable increase from previous years. This growth underscores the flexibility and resilience of the coatings and raw materials industries as companies adapt to evolving market conditions and continue seeking new opportunities amid the global economic slowdown.
Strong Client Engagement & Market Confidence
Our team met with over 300 clients from diverse markets. Across these conversations, we observed a consistently positive outlook for next year’s business plans. Encouragingly, many partners expressed their intention to participate again in the next China Coating Show, reaffirming their confidence in the region’s market dynamics.
Key Market Insights We Captured
During the exhibition, several important developments were noted:
1. The continued search for new TiO₂ suppliers following the closure of Venator, creating fresh opportunities for reliable producers and distributors.
2. Discussions with an Italian ink manufacturer revealed that companies in Italy may apply for government-backed exemptions on anti-dumping duties—an important detail that may influence sourcing strategy and pricing competitiveness within the EU market.
These insights represent valuable leads and regulatory updates that we will monitor and follow up closely in the coming months.
Show Dynamics vs. 2024
Compared with 2024, overall visitor traffic appeared similar, but the level of engagement and enthusiasm was significantly stronger. Many participants showed heightened interest in exploring new supply chain partnerships, alternative sourcing routes, and market expansion opportunities—a positive signal for 2025 business development.
Looking Ahead
This year’s China Coating Show reaffirmed the strategic importance of the Chinese market and global coatings ecosystem. The strong turnout, proactive client discussions, and emerging opportunities reflect a sector that continues to move forward with determination.
G & J Resources will continue building on these connections and insights to strengthen our partnerships and support customers navigating a rapidly changing market landscape.
