G&J Resources at ECS 2023
July 21–23, 2026 | Centro Banamex, Mexico City
This July, our team took part in the ANAFAPYT Latin American Coatings Show 2026, held at Centro Banamex in Mexico City. Organized by the National Association of Paint and Ink Manufacturers (ANAFAPYT), LACS is the principal meeting point for the paint, coatings, and ink industry in Mexico and across the wider Latin American region, bringing together manufacturers, distributors, and technical professionals over three days of exhibition.
Latin America remains an important growth market for G&J, and returning to LACS gave us the opportunity to reconnect with existing customers, meet new contacts, and gain a clearer view of how regional demand is developing.
A Sector-Focused Exhibition
Unlike broader chemical trade fairs, LACS is built specifically around the coatings and ink sector, and the audience reflected that. Nearly every conversation at our booth was with someone working directly with pigment in production, which meant discussions began at a technical level rather than an introductory one.
Over the three days our booth received paint, ink, masterbatch, and plastics manufacturers, alongside distributors and trading companies. While the majority of visitors were Mexican, the show's regional reach was clear, and we also held discussions with companies from Colombia, Venezuela, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, the United States, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates.
Market Insights from LACS 2026
1. Continued preference for chloride-process titanium dioxide in architectural and industrial coatings, where durability and gloss retention remain the deciding factors.
2. Recurring technical concerns around colour consistency and heat stability, with several manufacturers reporting yellowing in material received from current suppliers.
3. Active interest in evaluating alternative sources, with many visitors already working with established international brands and looking to broaden their supplier base.
4. Distributors remain central to regional access, forming a significant share of our visitors and serving as the practical route to end users across Central and South America.
5. Demand spread across a wide application base, including architectural and industrial paints, inks, PVC, masterbatch, rubber, and road-marking materials.
Looking Ahead
LACS 2026 was a productive event for our team and reinforced the value of face-to-face engagement in a market where technical service and supply reliability weigh as heavily as specification. Several of the discussions held in Mexico City have already progressed to sample evaluation and commercial follow-up.
We will continue to support manufacturers and distributors across Latin America with dependable titanium dioxide supply and responsive technical assistance, and we look forward to building on the relationships established at this year's show.
We extend our appreciation to everyone who visited our booth and to ANAFAPYT for organizing a well-structured and professionally run event.
